There were 6 teams playing – Crosskeys, Summer Croft School, St Michaels School, Howe Green School, with an A & B squad & All Stars. It was played as a round robin and the weather held out nicely.
Cross Keys have always done reasonably well in this tournament however Howe Green the reigning champions have won it for the last 4 years and as their current A team mainly consists of Cross Keys players it was an instant battle between them and us.
The squad was as follows;-
Greg Barton, Fiona Fuller, Elizabeth Ward-Booth, Amber Moore, Macy Jacob, Madison Coare
Kate Peacock
The team played 5 games and the results were:-
Won 6 – 1 v’s All-stars , Won 9 – 0 v’s Howe Green B, Won 12 – 2 v’s St Michaels
Lost 4 – 5 v’s Howe Green A, Won 5 – 0 v’s Summercroft
Due to losing to Howe Green A, 5-4 this determined who won the tournament and we came runners up. Well done guys we fought hard. This particular match was incredible with some fantastic netball being played by both teams – it became fast and gripping and as the score reflects it was very close.
All players played well throughout and we showed some good defence and shooting all the way through the tournament. POM was Madison Coare. Well done to her.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents that came and supported the Teams.
Anita & Julie
