Grace Kearns: Jack Petchey Award Winner, April 2020

Grace’s standard of play has greatly improved since joining Crosskeys 3 years ago.  She has moved from the B squad  to gain the Goal Shooter’s position in the very successful A squad.  She trialled for Herts County and won a place on the Satellite Pathway of Excellence.  She is working for the D of E Bronze Award, and helps at her school coaching football and netball.

Francesca Calierno: Jack Petchey Award Winner, March 2020

Francesca is a brilliant player, fully committed to training, always giving 100%.  She outstanding assistance at Years 7 and 8 training sessions, helping these girls to improve their skills.  At school she is a Year 7 Mentor, helping with extra reading and homework and providing advice if requested.  She helps with coaching and umpires both school and inter-house matches.

Emily Best: Jack Petchey Award Winner, February 2020

Emily has been with the Crosskeys for approximately 6 years. She is a very versatile, hard working player.  This season she has started to play Senior Netball and always accredits herself well. She has gained the IOA Award for umpiring and is working towards becoming a qualified Coach.  She helps with coaching younger players at her school.  Emily has organised fundraising events at both school and club, thus helping a variety of charities.

Molly Morrisey: Jack Petchey Award Winner, January 2020

Molly is a very committed and talented club member, playing at  Senior Level  in  our County League.  She  was selected  for  the County U15’s  squad  and  then  successfully trialled for  Mavericks U15’s.  She was then asked  to join Mavericks Pathwway Futures and trains at the St Albans Hub. She has been chosen  to go on tour with Mavericks U17 Squad, to South Africa in August of this year.  Molly also helps  with coaching at a local Primary School.  Finally she helps at the Children’s Liturgy at her Family Church.

Robyn Graham: Jack Petchey Award Winner, November 2019


Robyn has been a member of Crosskeys since Primary School. She was the first junior to play for a netball franchise squad, when she gained a place at Surrey Storm. She has had several serious injuries, one of which kept her out of netball for nearly a year. She kept fighting her way back to fitness and last year regained her place in the First Team. She shows great potential as a coach, and is keen to obtain her coaching award. She is held in high regard for her skills and dogged determination by her coach and peers.

Katie Chimes: Jack Petchey Award Winner, October 2019


Katie has just started her third season with Crosskeys. She has steadily worked her way up through the Senior squads, and is now a regular player in the First Team.
She is a very enthusiastic, committed and determined player. She also helps to coach the younger players, both at school and within our club. She is working towards her umpiring award, helping out at matches whenever possible. Katie’s biggest achievement to date has been
in securing a place in Saracen Mavericks U17’s netball squad.

Beth Parker: Jack Petchey Award Winner, April 2019

Beth has been a member of Crosskeys for seven years. During that time she has developed her skills as a netball player dramatically, working hard in training, listening to her coaches and always adopting a great attitude.

Two seasons ago Beth trialled successfully to gain a place  in the Essex Netball Pathway and is a regular in their squad on match play days. Her enthusiasm and dedication to our club is evident in the support she gives to other players in helping them to “fit in” and that she is always willing to help out at events and at training with younger players.  In the future Beth intends gaining her umpiring and coaching qualifications, once her studies allow, so that she can continue to develop other areas of her netball.

Kezia Beeton: Jack Petchey Award Winner, March 2019

Kezia is a very versatile, dedicated player and is very encouraging to her peer players during matches. She also helps with her school teams. She has taken part in a “Race for Life” to raise money for cancer research. She volunteers at the Local Park Runs, doing barcode scanning before taking part in the run. She is a member of Essex County Athletics training three times per week and represents the county in both Cross Country and Relay Teams.

Sofia Read: Jack Petchey Award Winner, February 2019

Sofia is a very committed member of Crosskeys with a very positive attitude when at training and in matches.  At school, she was captain of her year team, which won all their games.  She was selected to go into Primary Schools to help set up sporting activities for the younger children.  She has raised money in a Bake Sale for “Stand up to Cancer”. She also belongs to a Swimming Club and did a 50 lengths swim to raise money for “Children in Need”

Leila Mebrate: Jack Petchey Award Winner, January 2019

Leila has only been with Crosskeys for a short time, but has already shown determination to improve both her fitness and netball skills.  She is also a member of Epping Forest and District Swimming Club, training 4 times  week. She plays the cornet, has singing lessons and is working towards the Duke of Edinburgh, Bronze Award
