Charlotte Barton: Jack Petchey Award Winner, October 2017

Charlotte joined Crosskeys approximately 11years ago. She has become a very talented player, and has a regular place in one of our County League teams.  In addition to her netball she has spent time working at a Homeless Shelter and serving meals in a Soup Kitchen.  Last year, she went to America and volunteered at a Wildlife Centre, helping to nurse baby birds, snapping turtles and sunburnt crocodiles, back to good health.  She has also been a County and Regional swimmer and a County Hockey player.  She is now at University, but returns regularly to train and play matches.

From our Chairperson

CROSSKEYS FAMILY

Seniors and Youth

First of all I would like to comment on a brilliant night at Halow last night! THREE matches and THREE fantastic wins – WELL DONE Teams 4,5 & 6 - Joyce Barton,Molly Fozzard,Hannah Hogan, Emma-Louise Wacey, Nichola Brichieri-Colombi, Wendy Chambers, Kate Pink (Team 4), Nada Tadros, Lily Fakile, Anita Griffiths, Megan Williams, Tegan Lintonbon-baker, Kate Henshall, Hannah Bishop (Team5), Reah Leanne Norris, Alice Miles, Katie Miles, Lizzie Francis, Emma Kennett, Estelle Williams, Jess Barclay (Team 6). An excellent conclusion to the first half of the winter season.
Our teams are doing well at Harlow. Team 1 = 2nd, Team 2 = 5th, Team 3 = 3rd, Team 4 = 3rd, Team 5 = 5th, Team 6 = 5th.
At Stortford Team 1 were celebrating their first WIN on Sunday (they have picked up points in most games but just been “pipped” at the post when it has come to winning). Team 2 = 3rd, Team 3 = 1st, Team 4 = 2nd, Team 5 = 4th, Team 6 = 7th. So, again most teams doing a great job and getting better/stronger.
Herts League Team 1 = 1st (I believe), Team 2 = 3rd but still in with a shout of promotion – Keep going girls!
ER = TOP of the table. Playing so well and with the inclusion of several of our talented youngsters i.e. Amber Moore, Becky Allen, Megan Pointer, Cam Brown and hopefully Hanae Sbai once she is fit again, the future of the club is looking GREAT. Congratulations ER squad. Read More »

Holly Shilston: Jack Petchey Award Winner, November 2016

Holly has been with Crosskeys, for approximately 6 years. In that time, she has progressed from a very good Youth player, to an outstanding Senior.  She is a great role model for younger members and extremely loyal to the Club.  While still at University, Holly would travel long distances to play for the East Region Squad.  She is a real character, very well liked and known for her kindness and humility.

Our 11th Junior Tournament: A message from the Chair

Sunday 24th April saw Crosskeys Netball Club host it’s 11th junior tournament. It really was the biggest and the best so far. Seventy four (74) teams took part travelling from as far away as Norfolk, Sussex and Durham.  Junior netball players who’s ages ranged from 10 -16 enjoyed a full day of netball. The standard of play was impressive in every age group from every team.

Our Crosskeys committee/non playing team worked tirelessly throughout the day starting at 7 a.m and finally leaving Mark Hall Centre at almost 7 p.m. Well done one and all on a truly fantastic effort. Although we all came home tired it really was well worthwhile and so many lovely compliments from people about how well run the Crosskeys tournament always is.
So much hard work goes into running a tournament of this size and it would not be possible without everyone “pulling” together. Crosskeys should be very proud of the accomplishments this weekend. Coaches, players, umpires, parents, friends and family all getting involved to run a successful day. Well done Crosskeys NC.

***** CONGRATULATIONS *****

A huge WELL DONE to Amber Moore, Hanae Sbai and Becky Allen for securing a place in County for 2015-2016. Also to Cam Brown, Olivia Burn. Nada Tadros,Ellie Lewis and Kate Henshall for being successfully selected into Herts Satellite Academy for 2015 -2016.
Commiserations to those who trialled but were unsuccessful this year. Don’t be put off. Don’t see it as “failure” but rather as a challenge. Rise to that challenge and keep trying. We are proud of you ALL.
