Emma Wacey: Jack Petchey Award Winner, April 2017

Emma is the youngest member of a very talented netball family.  Mum and two older sisters also play for Crosskeys.  Emma has been with us since she was eight years old and has always shown what an excellent player she is.  This season she has secured a place in our Herts 2 squad and has progressed enormously with her skills and knowledge.  Also this season Emma has taken an “Into Officiating” course to enable her to umpire matches.  Here too she is demonstrating good skills and is developing into a very good young umpire.  Emma always works hard during training sessions, she is a quiet, friendly girl who is a definite asset to our club in every way.

From our Chairperson

CROSSKEYS FAMILY

Seniors and Youth

First of all I would like to comment on a brilliant night at Halow last night! THREE matches and THREE fantastic wins – WELL DONE Teams 4,5 & 6 - Joyce Barton,Molly Fozzard,Hannah Hogan, Emma-Louise Wacey, Nichola Brichieri-Colombi, Wendy Chambers, Kate Pink (Team 4), Nada Tadros, Lily Fakile, Anita Griffiths, Megan Williams, Tegan Lintonbon-baker, Kate Henshall, Hannah Bishop (Team5), Reah Leanne Norris, Alice Miles, Katie Miles, Lizzie Francis, Emma Kennett, Estelle Williams, Jess Barclay (Team 6). An excellent conclusion to the first half of the winter season.
Our teams are doing well at Harlow. Team 1 = 2nd, Team 2 = 5th, Team 3 = 3rd, Team 4 = 3rd, Team 5 = 5th, Team 6 = 5th.
At Stortford Team 1 were celebrating their first WIN on Sunday (they have picked up points in most games but just been “pipped” at the post when it has come to winning). Team 2 = 3rd, Team 3 = 1st, Team 4 = 2nd, Team 5 = 4th, Team 6 = 7th. So, again most teams doing a great job and getting better/stronger.
Herts League Team 1 = 1st (I believe), Team 2 = 3rd but still in with a shout of promotion – Keep going girls!
ER = TOP of the table. Playing so well and with the inclusion of several of our talented youngsters i.e. Amber Moore, Becky Allen, Megan Pointer, Cam Brown and hopefully Hanae Sbai once she is fit again, the future of the club is looking GREAT. Congratulations ER squad. Read More »

U 16′s – Poole Tournament Winners October 2016

Tournament Winners at Poole 2016

Poole had always been a successful tournament for Crosskeys so coming back each year made it even more challenging.
This year, as in the past we took a mixed year group of U15/U16. A very early start always makes us a little sluggish in the first game and when I saw we were up against the mighty Tameside I thought perhaps our first game may not go our way.
Tameside as always were energetic and a confident team but straight from the start we came out fighting, putting in practice of Amanda Newton’s fantastic session this week of dynamic play and 100% commitment with dictation of space. A great start with a 6-3 win. Our second game against Birmingham based Ryland were again a tough team with 2 exceptional players. However a slight change of players in centre court didn’t rattle us and we kept moving the ball in every channel to create space for us to move onto. Another successful win of 8-3. Read More »
