I was able to enter two teams- Crosskeys Purple and Crosskeys White.
Crosskeys PURPLE consisted of the following players:- Ashleigh Attwood, Georgina Dobson, Maisie Hopwood, Charlotte Scanlon, Imogen Wade, Megan Jarvis (U10) and Lauren Spencer (U10).
The team played so hard and fought hard for every ball in each game. As the day progressed they grew in confidence and, with each game, their passing and shooting progressed really well. This meant that they were able to win a few games, draw one game but only lose games to the stronger teams.
They managed to finished in the top five which is a massive improvement to last year.
Crosskeys WHITE consisted of the following players:- Francesca Bartram, Louise Devlin, Lucy Hitch, Rebecca Mclean, Paige Mulvey, Sky Mulvey and Natasha Powala.
They played really well and continued with good passing, spacing and shooting, enabling them to win their first five games. The next game was against a strong Asco team, which they lost 2-1, followed by Chelmsford Blue, which they also lost 4-3.
This sadly put them out of the running for a top 2 position, but, thanks to Sarah Mclean (Coach) and Mel Boulton (Umpire on the day), they brought them out of their gutted feeling by winning their last game so ending on a high.
They ended up in 3rd place, which is so good as they ended up 6th or 7th position last year.
Many thanks to the players, mums and dads, of both teams for, their support and help throughout the day.
