This Season
U 12's Thurrock Tournament, 12th October 2009
The U12's were very excited and anxious as this was their first match/competition since the summer,
and the fact that we were going to play some teams that we had not come up against before.
The weather started off very good, but during the day the weather became very cold and wet,
( people in Harlow area did not believe this as they had no rain), so it was quite unpleasant for
the girls and the parents that stayed and supported us, so thank you for that.
I would like to thank the girls for all their effort as it took a while to settle into each game,
and they never gave up, so well done. Thanks to Sara who helped me coach the girls and giving up
her day and also to the parents that got wet and still kept the support going.
Results :-Essex Open won 2-0, Flames won 2-1, Asco lost 1-5, Kiddywinks lost 1-2, Brookshaw won 4-2,
Turnford lost 2-7 (eventual winners), Brentwood Cougars won 3-2, New Cambell drew 3-3,
Brentwood Panthers won 8-0, Chelmsford lost 3-4

U 13's Thurrock Tournament, 13th October 2009
It was a good turn out with 10 Crosskeys players making the trip to Thurrock to participate in
their first tournament since I had taken over as their coach in September.
The first match was fantastic all of the girls were definitely up for the challenge and played
out of their skins to win the game 10 – 0. Unfortunately in the next few matches that followed
they continued to play well but we did not quite get the results we had hoped for.
The girls showed a good team spirit and they supported each other to the end of the tournament,
I did not have any players moaning about the decisions I was making with regards to rotation and
even the wet weather didn’t dampen their spirits towards the end of the tournament.
The tournament provided us with an opportunity for all the girls to experience playing competitive
netball and allowing me to identify areas that need to be worked on further in training. I thoroughly
enjoyed the day and hoped the girls did too.
