Day 1 An early start for the girls as they had a long way to travel to be part of the tournament. They were all very excited to get there and didn’t let the bad weather bring their sprits down. They tried hard all day and all kept their heads up even after losing their first three games. They were unlucky to lose some of their games, especially when they played the Yendy’s, who eventually went on to win the plate, as on both occasions we only lost by 1 goal.
As the day went on the girls looked to be playing better and stronger netball by coming forward for the ball a lot more and our passing was looking stronger and picking up more interceptions all over the court. We then ended the day on a high by winning our last game.
Day 2 The Difference a night’s sleep made for the girls was very noticeable as they were playing much better; we looked to be back in the zone and playing our own game. The girls looked much more focused and showed good fighting sprit in every game.
They went on to win 2 of their games and lost the other 3 by very small margins, which was hard
to take as only 1 goal separated us from victory within 2 of the defeats. But the girls kept
fighting for every second of every game which made me and their supporters very proud.
It was fantastic to see them going for every ball and playing fast attractive netball. The girls
played really well on day 2 and were unlucky to not progress further. They finished in 6th place
but they showed what a great season we should be in for this year.
