Harlow Netball Association Player of the Year Awards 2008/9

Each year Harlow Netball Association awards a player of the year for each division, this is calculated on a vote system, at the end of every game the opposition chooses who they thought was the player of the match, this is then entered onto a table and through out the year the player with the most votes wins the award.

We are very pleased to say that that Crosskeys players collected three out of the four divisions. This is a good achievement when you consider there are 8 teams in each division with each team having approximately 8 players --- that is big competition.

Well done to
Shelley Dowsett: Division One
Erica Critchlow: Division Three
Georgia Das: Division Four

Crosskeys 1 vs Tegate Kestrels

This was a keenly contested match as always. In the recent past Tegate have carried the honours. In this match, right the way through the result was always in doubt. The scoreline see-sawed between the two teams. The last thirty seconds of the match said it all. Tegate worked the ball into our circle, missed the shot, we got the rebound and took it to their circle and scored to win by one goal. It's sometimes hard to say, but a fairer result would have been a draw, (and credit to Tegate for the spirit in which they played the game) although we will celebrate a win.

But more importantly, the result and the manner in which we achieved it, will give us more confidence and reinforce the improvements in our game, and in the way we play, in all leagues and at all levels.

Team: Claire, Lucy, Nikki, Danny, Nicole, Shona, Ashleigh.
