U14 County Tournament Sunday Nov 18th 2012

Crosskeys U14 County Squad

New players were introduced to this U14 side this sunny weekend. Sadly, our first game against Watford Prem was lost by only one goal. The girls gave 100% and came up against some tough competition – we lost against Turnford and Hornets and again lost by a whisker against Abbey Flyers.

Magnificent wins against SAS and Hatfield followed and we ended the day with a hard fought 7-6 win against local team ASCO.

Oct 14th U12s Thurrock Tournament: Runners Up!

Oct 14th U12s Thurrock Tournament: Runners Up

We had ten games to play of which they won 8, drew 1 and lost 1 – narrowly 9 – 6 which was a well fought and close game. Everyone put their all into the games and fought to win. Lily Kew made her debut as a cracking GS assisted ably by the Captain for the day Alice Miles. Centre court was covered by Olivia, Emma and Laurel, with great defence by Cam and Molly and Evie.
A Great day was had by all and a fantastic result for the girls who came away happily with medals round their necks!

High Wycombe U13s Tournament Sunday 8th September 2012.

under 13s 2012-13

U13s High Wycombe Tournament 2012-13

What a busy day! The girls had to play nine games from 10am through to 2.15pm we won 4 lost 4 and drew1 ,we were then placed in either the cup or the plate rounds. We went into the cup round where we were knocked out by Brentwood purple 5-6 an extremely close game and one that we had played earlier on in the day and lost to them 6-4.
The girls all played well throughout a very hot day but the player of the tournament went to Hanae. Hanae took on board the coaches comments throughout the day and incorporated those into her game.
A good start to the season ending 6th out of 12 teams overall.
A big thanks to Mel for giving up her Sunday at VERY short notice for her umpiring and coaching skills and also to all the parents for your transport and support on the day.
The squad for the day back row left to right:
Emily, Hanae, Amber, Holly, Becky
Front row left to right: Izzy, Madz, Kate & Macey

East Grinstead Tournament: Sunday 1st July

U12’s – Coaches Julie Moore & Anita Griffiths

Oh YES ………. another fantastic day had by the U12’s
The team played the best Netball that they have and managed to pull off producing some fantastic results before losing to Essex Open B in their first Semi Final.
The most memorable game of the day was against Nolfolk United which we needed to win to put us into the Semi Finals as did they!!!!
The fight and passion that the 8 girl’s produced was incredible. They were losing 3-1 at half time however they managed to fight on and turn the result round to 4-3 scoring right on the whistle with the winning goal. Nolfolk United were devastated as this knocked them out of the tournament. The noise that came from our players and parent supporters indicated that they could not have been happier. Well Done Girls keep up with this determination we will make a FINAL.
The Team for the day consisted of
Becky Allen, Emily Allen, Madison Coare, Izzy Dorkin, Macy Jacob, Amber Moore, Kate Peacock and Hanae Sbai
We played 7 matches against: CDP Coral, Essex Open A, Mid Sussex Black, New Cambell, NRG, Norfolk United and CDP Diamonds.

The TEAM WON 6 and LOST 1 – putting us into our first Semi Finals against Essex Open B

The team fought hard however we lost 9-5 putting us out of the tournament leaving Essex Open A to play Essex Open B in the final We will be there next year!!!!!!
The coaches awarded for “Player of the Tournament” went to: Emily Allen
Emily has recently stepped up to play in the “A “squad and defiantly went out to show that she is a worthy contender to stay there. Well done to her.
As coaches we can only ask for the team to go out and try their best against all teams and believe us this is what the team did and more we could not have asked for anything better.
Lastly we would like to say a big thank you to all the support that the parents gave on the day it was an absolute brilliant atmosphere and I look forward to a repeat at the Turnford End of Season Rally.
Thanks
Julie & Anita
U12 Coaches.

Yr 6 – Turnford Junior Tournament: 19th May

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO THE U11 SQUAD WHO ON SATURDAY 19TH MAY CAME HOME FROM THE TURNFORD TOURNAMENT WITH TROPHIES!!!

All the girls played their hearts out. There were 22 – U11 teams split into 2 sections of 11 teams. Crosskeys U11 played 10 matches and were runners up which got them to the semi final. In the semi-final we played Asco and in a nail biting match after drawing 7-7, we had to play an extra 2 minutes. In that 2 minutes we scored 2 goals which saw us through to the final.

We met Turnford A in the final who played a great game and were the eventual winners, however, we had a fantastic tournament and for the girls to come away with a trophy was the highlight of the day.

I would like to say “Thankyou” to all the parents for their support and especially to Gary for setting up the Gazebos for us early in the day and keeping stats for me.

CONGRATULATIONS. EVIE, MOLLY, CAM, DAISY, ELYSIA, EMMA, LAUREL, JORDAN, ALICE AND OLIVIA.

Yr 7 – Turnford Junior Tournament: 19th May

The U12’s entered the annual Turnford Tournament on the 19th May. The weather held out for us however it was defiantly not up to the normal levels we have experienced for this tournament in May.
All players played really well throughout the day.

Team consisted of
Becky Allen, Madison Coare, Holly Davis, Izzy Dorkin, Fiona Fuller, Macy Jacob, Amber Moore & Kate Peacock
We had 8 matches scheduled however on arriving we got advised that one team had pulled out so we only got to play 7 matches against: ASCO, Brentwood, Dacorum, Hertford Hornets B, Oaksway A, Stevenage Storm & Trinity.
It was good to come against some different teams that we have not played before and it was strange to play against Sue Peters Team “Brentwood”.

The coaches awarded for “Player of the Tournament” went to:
Madison Coare who managed to play consistently well in all matches, so well done to her for some excellent play throughout the day.
As coaches we can only ask for the team to go out and try their best against all teams. This is what the team delivered however the results did not necessarily reflect the effort that was put in.
Thanks to all that attended.
Julie

Yr 7 – Essex Open Junior Tournament: 12th May

The U12’s entered a team into Essex Open Annual Tournament over in Ilford, this was a first for us as a team and we ventured there not really knowing what to expect. The Venue was very good and the tournament was well organized. We will most definitely go again. All players played really well throughout the day all be it we did come up against some good teams.
Team consisted of
Becky Allen, Emily Allen, Madison Coare, Izzy Dorkin, Fiona Fuller, Amber Moore, Kate Peacock & Natasha Robinson

We played 5 matches against: New Campbell, Hornets, Essex Open A, Star and Woodley
We Won 1 Drew 1 and Lost 3 on paper it may not look like a massive achievement however we will say that the team held their own against teams like Essex Open A and Woodley who lost in the finals to Turnford.

The coaches awarded for “Player of the Tournament” went to:
Fiona Fuller who managed to play well in 3 different positions so well done to her for some excellent play throughout the day.
As coaches we can only ask for the team to go out and try their best against all teams. This is what the team delivered however the results did not necessarily reflect the effort that was put in.
Lastly we would like to say a big thank you to all the support that the parents gave on the day.
Thanks
Julie & Anita
