Yr 6 – Turnford Junior Tournament: 19th May
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO THE U11 SQUAD WHO ON SATURDAY 19TH MAY CAME HOME FROM THE TURNFORD TOURNAMENT WITH TROPHIES!!!
All the girls played their hearts out. There were 22 – U11 teams split into 2 sections of 11 teams. Crosskeys U11 played 10 matches and were runners up which got them to the semi final. In the semi-final we played Asco and in a nail biting match after drawing 7-7, we had to play an extra 2 minutes. In that 2 minutes we scored 2 goals which saw us through to the final.
We met Turnford A in the final who played a great game and were the eventual winners, however, we had a fantastic tournament and for the girls to come away with a trophy was the highlight of the day.
I would like to say “Thankyou” to all the parents for their support and especially to Gary for setting up the Gazebos for us early in the day and keeping stats for me.
CONGRATULATIONS. EVIE, MOLLY, CAM, DAISY, ELYSIA, EMMA, LAUREL, JORDAN, ALICE AND OLIVIA.

U-11 (Year 6)
THE U11 TEAM HAD A GREAT 1ST TOURNAMENT OF THE SEASON.
(Crosskeys Junior Tournament, 22nd April)
WE PLAYED SEVEN MATCHES. WON 4, DREW 1 and LOST 2.
THE TWO WE LOST WERE ONLY BY ONE GOAL AND, UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE WE DREW OUR 1ST MATCH, WE DIDN’T QUALIFY FOR THE SEMI FINALS. HAD WE WON OUR 1ST MATCH THE GIRLS WOULD HAVE COME 2ND AND BEEN THROUGH TO THE SEMI’S.
THEY ALL PLAYED WELL, FIGHTING ALL THE WAY AND I’M SURE, IN TOURNAMENTS UPCOMING, THEY WILL SUCCEED AS WE HAVE SOME GREAT TALENT IN THIS AGE GROUP.
THANKS TO ALL THE PLAYERS FOR TRYING HARD AND HAPPILY SWAPPING IN AND OUT. ALSO MY THANKS TO ALL THE PARENTS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

CONGRATULATIONS YEAR 6 !!!!!
U11 Crosskeys Match V Turnford A Saturday 25th Feb 2012
A Big Well done to my U11 (Yr 6) team on Saturday.
We turned up for our 11.40am match on a lovely Saturday morning for our 2nd game against Turnford A this season. After winning our first round match against them before Christmas we knew they would be eager to beat us second time around. With great team spirit and an eagerness to win the girls focused on keeping possession and playing their own game. Olivia Kounnis played GS for us for the first half assisted by Emma Wacey as GA, and after the first quarter we were 6-2 up! Evie Hopwood and Cam Brown played brilliantly in Defence and made numerous interceptions and our centre court players Jordan Hinks, Laurel Peck, Amy Stimpson and Molly Ballard kept the game flowing. Turnford caught up in the second quarter with some good defence play but we managed to keep our lead. Well done to Jordan and Molly who stepped in to play a quarter each as GS when I moved Emma out to Centre and Olivia to GA for the second half. Thanks to all the parents for their much appreciated support.
We are still top of the league and hopefully with the rest of the squad of girls that play in the team Saturdays we can remain there.
From a very proud coach
